Type of personal information I collect

I currently collect and process the following information:

• Name of parent and student, parent phone number, address and email addresses.
• Name of school, exam boards, predicted grades data and assessment data from learners.
• SEND information. This includes specific learning needs, copies of EHCPs, details of any barriers to learning.
• Mock exam results as well as test data from school-based tests.

How I obtain your personal information and why I have it

Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• To enable me to contact you to inform you of my services and to provide you with online links.
• To enable me to provide the student with the correct grade and level of tuition according to their needs.
• To support the student as effectively as possible whilst receiving tutoring services.
• To ensure we are meeting our safeguarding commitments as outlined in our safeguarding policy.

I use the information that you have given me to tailor the tuition according to the students' needs.

I may share this information with tutors subcontracted to Restart Tuition, this would only be the case if that tutor was working directly with the student.

Lawful bases for processing (UK GDPR)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Restart Tuition via email at contact@restarttuition.com, or contacting me directly on 01935 310290.

(b) Legal Obligation. In some cases, I may be required to retain or share personal data to comply with legal or statutory requirements, for example to fulfil safeguarding duties or to comply with the data policies of a partner organisation such as a school or local authority. Where this applies, I will inform you of the reason and the nature of the obligation.

In line with our legal obligations under safeguarding legislation, we may process and share personal data without consent if we believe a child or adult at risk may be in danger of harm. This includes sharing information with relevant safeguarding bodies such as local authorities, social care, or the police, where appropriate.

How I store your personal information

Your information is securely stored within TutorCruncher. Our tutors will access your data only through this platform.

I keep names, addresses, email addresses and all other information for the duration of tuition. I will then dispose your information by deleting it from TutorCruncher within 12 months of the last date of tuition.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights, including:

• Your right of access – you have the right to ask me for copies of your personal information.
• Your right to rectification – you have the right to ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information you think is incomplete.
• Your right to erasure – you have the right to ask me to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
• Your right to restriction of processing – you have the right to ask me to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
• Your right to object to processing – you have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
• Your right to data portability – you have the right to ask that I transfer the personal information you gave me to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
